Front End Engineer

Hi! I'm Derek—a Front-End Engineer with a background in design and I love creating user-friendly, accessible digital experiences. My work spans everything from software architecture and leading technical teams to optimizing performance and building maintainable user interfaces. Lately, I've been working with React to create the best Link in Bio platform in the galaxy as well as integrating an ad platform with an expected 2x revenue increase, but I've also spent years building apps with Vue.js and its ecosystem, as well as cross-platform mobile apps with React Native.

I'm passionate about functional programming, test-driven development and Agile methodologies, as well as well-built public APIs that users can easily consume. Outside of coding, I enjoy mentoring engineers and leaning on my design background—which has earned me a couple of national awards—to bring a creative edge to my projects. I'm always looking for ways to grow, collaborate and make a real impact with the work I do.
